Yesterday we went to White Sands Beach to SCUBA dive. The boat ride was about 45 minutes, which wasn't a problem. The seas, on the other hand were. The waves were between four and five feet. It wasn't so bad on the way there, because we were going with the waves and could ride them. On the other hand, the way back was a different story. We rode into the waves and one time we hit a wave so hard that I heard my neck crack!
This was the same beach we went to a while ago where the snorkeling was OUTSTANDING! The beach is in Tajoura. Yesterday, however, the visibility was terrible. It poured down rain on us twice. It even rained in Djibouti! Very unusual.
I have been competing in some sporting events. The competition is called the "Captain's Cup". That's because the Camp is run by the Navy and is commanded by a Navy Captain. I have participated in softball, Texas Hold 'Em, and soccer so far. I have been injured for each sport (excluding Texas, of course). For example, I am usually good for a base hit in softball. On my first hit of the first game, I ran towards first base and felt both groin muscles go. Don't ask me to define "go". All I know is it felt like they ripped. When I had to run to second base, everyone was yelling for me to run.
Tonight we played our first soccer game. I sacrificed my foot be putting it between the ball and someone's foot. He kicked the crap out of it! Now that I am laying on my bed typing this, it is throbbing like a son of a gun!! Luckily I have some pain pills from my last injury!
